Health Update from JCBOE

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Jersey City Public Schools posted a health update regarding the current concerns about COVID-2019. Please see the below information and the links for more information.

Jersey City Public Schools:

” You likely have seen or read reports about the Novel or new Coronavirus that originated in Wuhan, China. There are no suspected or confirmed cases of the coronavirus in New Jersey.  Our school nurses have been in communication with the Hudson County Regional Health Commission to monitor the situation and will follow their recommendations.

It is important to note that some individuals may choose to wear a mask for their own protection during cold and flu season. It should not be a cause for alarm.

The entire Jersey City community is reminded that the best way to prevent the spread of the flu or related illnesses is to wash your hands with soap and warm water frequently. Cover your nose/mouth when sneezing or coughing, and avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.

For more information about coronavirus, please see the Fact Sheet from the NJ Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.”
