We are so excited to share information about our CPA sponsored After School Clubs !! We know how much our students benefit from the enrichment opportunities at PS16 each year. Our parent association has worked with our teachers to create a program filled with a multitude of fun learning activities.
Our clubs serve as a fundraiser effort to run various activities and projects that the CPA is a part of during the school year.
Registration for Session 1 classes will go live automatically on Wednesday, September, 30 at 7 pm
- Registration starts automatically and runs through Sign Up Genious, we only set up beginning time
- Links to register will be shared here prior to registration. (This page will be updated with the links below the description of each class)
- Our classes will run for 45 minutes.
- Please register your children according to their grade level.
- Double check your child’s schedule to ensure there will be no conflicts with the classes you register for.
- Please note that if you picked up your child early on a Club day they will not be able to return to the school for Club. Please plan doctor’s appointments or other appointments keepng that in mind.

Students will be brought to their club at regular dismissal time (2:45pm) and can be collected by parent/guardian when the club finishes at 3:45pm.
Students in CASPER will be brought to their Afterschool Club and returned to their CASPER room when club finishes. A Casper parent can not pick up their child prior to 4pm (for 3pm clubs) on Club days.
Please note that when you register your child for a CPA After School Club you are agreeing to the following:
“I agree to place my Child in the care of the program volunteers and staff, subject to all its rules and requirements., I understand that the PS16 CPA carries liability insurance but not medical insurance, I give permission to have my Child’s image/photo taken and used in PS16 CPA After School Program future publications and/or website. All payments made are non-refundable. I understand the CPA has the right to return a payment and cancel a registration. Refunds are not given if a child misses a class. Class makeups are only scheduled if the teacher has to cancel a class, school is canceled for inclement weather, etc., Each class has a minimum enrollment requirement. If this is not met, that class will be canceled, and refunds will be given.”

Each week will bring new challenges and games designed to keep students thinking, laughing, and working together.

- Improv is a fun and engaging activity for children of all skill levels. It encourages quick thinking, a sense of humor and strong cooperation between scene partners. In this club, students will be taught the foundations of improv as well as improv games that will make them laugh while improving their confidence, wit and imagination. This club is open to any child with a flare for the dramatics, no experience is needed!

Little Architects

- In this program, “Little Architects” will learn about the fundamentals of architecture and design through open-ended play, drawing, and hands-on- building activities that ignite their imaginations and invite their curiosity about the built world.Children will learn valuable observation skills through drawing and building; enhance their mathematical abilities as they learn to measure and recognize geometric shapes, structures, and patterns; hone their critical thinking as they develop their designs in a stepwise and logical way; and perhaps most importantly, build on their innate creativity as they represent their ideas and find joy in creating something of their own. Most programs have a literary component, where children’s literature is used as a starting point to open up a discussion about architecture, gather kids’ observations and then follow that through with a hands-on activity.

- The Knitting Club for Kids is a creative and cozy space where students can discover the joy of knitting while learning a practical and rewarding new skill. Led by a patient and enthusiastic instructor, students will learn basic knitting techniques in a fun, supportive environment. The club is designed for both beginners and students who have some previous knitting experience. The club will provide students with a relaxing and positive environment where they can create, learn, and have fun while making something they can be proud of.
Reader’s Theater

- Reader’s theater is a great way to increase engagement with text, learn to read aloud with fluency and experience new kinds of reading content. In this club, students will be reading no-memorization scripts practicing skills such as diction, fluency, inflection and tone. Not only will students get to practice valuable skills for reading and public speaking, but they will also get to experience unique texts with diverse scenes and genres. Roles will be divided among students and no auditions are required!
OOey Gooey Club

Students will have the opportunity to make a variety of slimes, sensory creations, and fun crafts while learning about colors, textures, mixing, and creative design. Each session will feature a new project that encourages students to use their imagination and express their individual creativity. Whether your child loves getting creative, experimenting with something new, or simply enjoys making things with their hands, Ooey Gooey Club is the perfect after-school adventure! Come ready to mix, mold, create, and get a little OOEY GOOEY!
Bollywood

- Our PS16 Main class works on 2nd through 5th grade students to semi complex Bollywood choreography. Over 4 weeks, students will build on technique, coordination, teamwork and dance expressions through engaging choreography and movement. Teachers will focus on legwork, proper technique, stance, spatial awareness, and turns while encouraging creativity and confidence. Students will learn to work together as a group to learn a 1-minute Bollywood choreography by the end of the 4-week session. Biweekly practice videos will be provided for at-home practice, helping students reinforce what they learn in class and build confidence throughout the session.
Treat Making

- In this class, students will learn the ins and outs of making yummy treats. Included in the lessons will be various techniques for decorating sugar cookies using royal icing, how to make cake pops, techniques for decorating cupcakes, and a grand finale of decorating their own mini cakes!

- The Bradford Bears Rising Stars Theatre Club is a high-energy, completely unscripted program where students learn the joy of performance entirely through interactive theatre games and creative play. Forget memorizing long scripts or dealing with stage fright. In this club, the focus is purely on collaboration, movement, and having fun. Every week, your child will dive into fast-paced acting challenges, storytelling exercises, and theatre games, designed to spark their creativity and build friendships. It is the perfect space for natural performers to let loose and for quieter students to build unshakeable confidence in a supportive environment.

Students will have opportunities to build, test, improve, and try again—all while having some seasonal fun!

Each week there will be a no-bake food that students will make that will encourage creativity, confidence and important life skills of becoming independent in the kitchen. - Thread, Fabric & Mosaic Masters is a fun, hands-on four-day art experience designed for students in Grades 2–5. Students will explore the creative possibilities of thread, fabric art, and mosaic materials while developing fine-motor skills, creativity, patience, and artistic confidence. Each day introduces students to a new artistic technique and allows them to create a unique project. Students will experiment with stitching, fabric textures, natural materials, patterns, color, and mixed-media art. The program is designed to be engaging and accessible for both beginning and experienced young artists.

Students will have the opportunity to move, relax, and develop healthy habits while learning how to connect movement with mindful breathing. No technology will be used during the club. All activities will be taught through instructor-led movement, demonstrations, and hands-on participation. The goal of the club is to help students feel more comfortable in their bodies, improve concentration, and discover enjoyable ways to stay active and manage everyday stress.

Join us for “Little Sprouts”, where our youngest learners become “Little Sprouts!” This hands-on club is designed specifically for 2nd-5th grade students to explore the wonders of nature. From digging in the dirt and planting seeds to learning how sunshine and water help things grow, your child will develop a love for the outdoors while practicing patience and care. It’s going to be a “growing” experience you won’t want to miss!

- Calling all future architects, scientists, artists, and inventors! Inspired by Andrea Beaty’s bestselling Questioneers series, this hands-on, 100% screen-free club brings literature to life through real-world STEM and creative challenges. Each week, students explore engaging stories and apply the Engineering Design Process to build models, run science tests, design artistic creations, and solve hands-on problems. Every participant receives their very own copy of a Questioneers book to keep.
