After School Clubs (Main Building)

We are so excited to share information about our CPA sponsored After School Clubs !! We know how much our students benefit from the enrichment opportunities at PS16 each year. Our parent association has worked with our teachers to create a program filled with a multitude of fun learning activities.

Our clubs also serve as a fundraiser effort to run various activities and projects that the CPA is a part of during the school year.

  • This information relates to the after-school clubs in the Main building only.
  • Classes are set to begin on Monday, October 6 and will run for 6 weeks.
  • Our clubs also serve as a fundraiser effort to run various activities and projects that the CPA is a part of during the school year.
  • The parent association has chosen to reduce the CPA fee to $50 to cover our administrative, building usage, security, and insurance costs.
  • Sign up Genius Processing fee is not included in the cost.

Registration for classes will go live automatically on Monday, September 29 at 8 pm
  • Registration starts automatically and runs through Sign Up Genious, we only set up beginning time
  • Links to register will be shared here prior to registration. (This page will be updated with the links below the description of each class)
  • Our classes will run for 45 minutes.
  • Please register your children according to their grade level.
  • Double check your child’s schedule to ensure there will be no conflicts with the classes you register for.
Students will be brought to their club at regular dismissal time (2:40pm) and can be collected by parent/guardian when the club finishes at 3:45pm.
  • Students registered in both 3pm and 4pm clubs will be brought to their club at regular dismissal time (2:40pm) and can be collected by parent/guardian when the club finishes at 4:45pm.
  • Students students registered in only a 4 pm club need to be picked up at 2:45 pm and brought back at 3:55 pm. Then they can be collected by parent/guardian when the club finishes at 4:45pm.
Students in CASPER will be brought to their Afterschool Club and returned to their CASPER room when club finishes.
  • A Casper parent can not pick up their child prior to 4pm (for 3pm clubs) / 5pm (for 4pm clubs) on Club days.
  • Non-CASPER students will be brought to their club at regular dismissal time (2:40pm) and can be collected by parent/guardian when the club finishes at 3:45pm.
  • Non-CASPER students registered in only a 4 pm club need to be picked up at 2:45 pm and brought back at 3:55 pm. Then they can be collected by parent/guardian when the club finishes at 4:45pm.
Please note that when you register your child for a CPA After School Club you are agreeing to the following:

“I agree to place my Child in the care of the program volunteers and staff, subject to all its rules and requirements., I understand that the PS16 CPA carries liability insurance but not medical insurance, I give permission to have my Child’s image/photo taken and used in PS16 CPA After School Program future publications and/or website. All payments made are non-refundable. I understand the CPA has the right to return a payment and cancel a registration. Refunds are not given if a child misses a class. Class makeups are only scheduled if the teacher has to cancel a class, school is canceled for inclement weather, etc., Each class has a minimum enrollment requirement. If this is not met, that class will be canceled, and refunds will be given.”

Students will learn the importance of teamwork and will be given the tools to perform without cues from their teacher. Students will be taught one 1.5 minute choreography by the end of 6 sessions. Teachers will work towards building student strength, coordination and encourage them to work independently and collectively as a team. Students will be taught to listen to musical cues/beats and time their moves with respect to the beat. Utmost importance will be given to body language and expression. Students will be taught to be aware of their movements and transitions between moves as well as orientation and transitions. Students will be taught one genre specific, 1.5 minute choreography by the end of 6 sessions. Biweekly Practice Videos will be provided for at home practice.
