
We are so excited to share information about our CPA sponsored After School Clubs !! We know how much our students benefit from the enrichment opportunities at PS16 each year. Our parent association has worked with our teachers to create a program filled with a multitude of fun learning activities.
Our clubs serve as a fundraiser effort to run various activities and projects that the CPA is a part of during the school year.
Registration for Session 2 classes will go live automatically on Sunday, February, 16 at 7 pm
- Registration starts automatically and runs through Sign Up Genious, we only set up beginning time
- Links to register will be shared here prior to registration. (This page will be updated with the links below the description of each class)
- Our classes will run for 45 minutes.
- Please register your children according to their grade level.
- Double check your child’s schedule to ensure there will be no conflicts with the classes you register for.
No CASPER Students will be brought to their club t regular dismissal time (2:40pm) and can be collected by parent/guardian when the club finishes at 3:45pm.
Students in CASPER will be brought to their Afterschool Club and returned to their CASPER room when club finishes. A Casper parent can not pick up their child prior to 4pm (for 3pm clubs) on Club days
Please note that when you register your child for a CPA After School Club you are agreeing to the following:
“I agree to place my Child in the care of the program volunteers and staff, subject to all its rules and requirements., I understand that the PS16 CPA carries liability insurance but not medical insurance, I give permission to have my Child’s image/photo taken and used in PS16 CPA After School Program future publications and/or website. All payments made are non-refundable. I understand the CPA has the right to return a payment and cancel a registration. Refunds are not given if a child misses a class. Class makeups are only scheduled if the teacher has to cancel a class, school is canceled for inclement weather, etc., Each class has a minimum enrollment requirement. If this is not met, that class will be canceled, and refunds will be given.”

- Art Explorers is a hands-on after-school art club designed for Kindergarten and First Grade students. Through guided projects inspired by well-known artists such as Romero Britto, Pablo Picasso, and Wassily Kandinsky, students explore foundational art concepts including color, line, shape, pattern, and composition. Each session emphasizes focus, creativity, and visual thinking while supporting skills that connect to classroom learning, such as organization, fine motor control, and attention to detail. Students complete a finished artwork every session and are encouraged to make thoughtful artistic choices in a calm, structured environment.

- In this class, students will learn the ins and outs of making yummy treats. Included in the lessons will be various techniques for decorating sugar cookies using royal icing, how to make cake pops, techniques for decorating cupcakes, and a grand finale of decorating their own mini cakes!

- The Mindful Moments Club gives students a fun space to pause, relax, and recharge. Each week, kids will practice simple mindfulness activities. These techniques are useful to help feel more calm and manage big feelings. Through playful activities, children will learn calming tools, try new skills, and have fun building confidence and focus!
Bradford All-Sports Academy

The BEAR-y Big Book Club: An A to Z Mysteries Novel Study

- Calling all Bradford Bears ready for a reading challenge! Join the “BEAR-y Big Book Club” for an immersive Novel Study featuring The Absent Author from the beloved A to Z Mysteries series. This club is specifically designed to introduce Kindergarteners and 1st Graders to the exciting world of beginning chapter books. While many children at this age are used to picture books, this club provides a gentle but firm challenge to help them bridge the gap toward independent reading. Through a structured literary exploration, our young bears will dive deep into the text to build essential reading stamina, sequence complex plots, and analyze character motivations—all while having a “paws-itively” great time. Each week, our detectives will focus on core reading comprehension using a comprehensive 40-page novel study workbook. To keep the adventure alive, we pair our academic work with hands-on “Detective Training” activities like fingerprinting and decoding secret messages. Your child will build critical literacy skills and logical reasoning in a fun, collaborative, and completely screen-free environment. Help us “paws” and reflect on a great first chapter book—we have a mystery to solve!

- Zumba Kids Club is a fun and active movement club for Kindergarten and 1st grade students. Children will dance, move, and play to upbeat, kid-friendly music while learning simple dance steps and movement games. - This club will provide children with an opportunity to become engaged in the wonders of science. Students will learn the fundamentals of the scientific method and experimentation. Students will explore the world of chemistry, astronomy, geology, and Earth science. Each week junior scientists will explore a different science concept through hypothesizing, experimentation and gaining a better understanding of the scientific method that will be a huge benefit to them as they advance their scientific studies at PS 16!
The Amazing Adventure

- Let’s go on an amazing adventure and take part in some interactive fun. These book-based projects will include science experiments, math puzzles, arts & craft ,and even “cooking”. We will read, create, and learn. These action packed activities promise to build on critical thinking, problem solving, literacy skills, and teamwork.

- The Math Stars League is an engaging after school enrichment program designed to strengthen foundational math skills for Kindergarten and Grade 1 students through hands-on activities, games, teamwork, and problem-solving challenges. The program emphasizes thinking, reasoning, and math confidence, not speed or memorization. Students will work individually and in small teams to complete daily math challenges using manipulatives, worksheets, and math games aligned to grade-level standards.

Little Lens Explorers

- This is a hands-on photography class designed specifically for Kindergarten and First Grade students. The kids will learn how photography works while exploring the world around them. Students will use disposable cameras that will be provided, making the experience simple, exciting, and screen free. Students will also put together their very own scrapbook
Yoga Stories

- Yoga poses, when integrated into a story, gently build children’s strength, flexibility, and coordination. Along with the physical benefits, yoga stories also boost students’ creativity, emotional wellbeing and focus. Yoga stories also promote social skills because it enables children to thrive in an environment that is supportive and builds a sense of community. The infusion of stories with yoga promises to be an exciting way for students to become fully integrated in stories they hear. The children through yoga will bring stories such as, The Gruffalo, Giraffes Can’t Dance and The Mixed Up Chameleon to life.
